The Transcontinental Railroad was completed May 10th, 1869, in Utah. The completion of the Transcontinental Railroad was a massive stepping stone in America. The world for Americans seemed to grow infinitely smaller with the ability to travel coast to coast in days, compared to the previous months it would have taken to hike or ride a horse. Traders now had the ability to quickly transport Eastern and/or Western goods the other. It also created many jobs in maintaining/repairing the railroad, the trains, running the trains, monitoring the trains, etc. Overall, it helped boost the country's economy superbly.
